DISCLAIMER
The sale of this book does not in any way endorse the author's writings.
Quite the contrary.
The Great War interrupted his studies. He was mobilised and took part in the Battle of the Yser, then in the African campaign from 1916 onwards, before joining a diplomatic mission in the USA. A globe-trotting journalist, he wrote extensively about the colony as well as about countries far away (China, Japan, Indonesia) and closer to home (USSR, Spain, etc.). He did not only travel but also took an interest in politics.
This interest led him to join the short-lived National Renaissance Party in 1919. Later, seduced by Léon Degrelle, he joined the young Rexist Movement, which made him a member of parliament (1936-1939). In the summer of 1940, he joined the collaboration and became one of its most prolific writers, both in the Nouveau Journal (for the 'Politique étrangère' column) and in the 'Soir volé'.
Brussels correspondent of the Parisian newspaper La Gerbe, author of several 'oriented' works. Became the Commissaire Général à l'Education Physique et aux Sports, a corporatist institution tinged with New Order ideas created to regulate sporting life during the Occupation.
These activities earned him a death sentence in absentia on 16 December 1946. Daye did not wait for the sentence: he was able to flee to Spain and then Argentina.
