Full title : Light and Medium Field Artillery
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The main offensive and defensive power of any army is inested in its light and medium artillery; they are the backbone of any modern force. During World War 2 this was proved many times and described in this Fact File are the many tpes of light and medium artillery pieces used by the major combatants. The range of calibres covered is from 75 mm to 105 mm, and thus this Fact File includes the British 25 pr, the American and German 105 mm howitzers and the Russian 76,2 mm guns. A large section is devoted to the numerous Skoda guns included in the 75 to 105 mm range; and many elderly relics of World War 1 are covered as well as the more modern pieces designed during the war and just before 1939. Nearly every gun described is illustrated, many by photographs never previously published. This Fact File is one of the most wide-ranging and important of the series.
