Sturmgeschutz IV Eastern Front Autumn 1944

EASY MODEL 36130
Scale 1:72

Period: WWII
Country: Germany

In December 1943, the StuG IV was introduced, which was essentially a slightly modified StuG III superstructure mounted on a Panzer IV chassis. From December 1943 to March 1945, 1139 of these 'hybrids' were produced by Krupp-Gruson in Magdeburg. The StuG IV (Sd.Kfz.167) was armed with a 75 mm StuK 40 L/48 gun mounted in a cast iron 'saukopf' jacket. It was manned by a crew of 4 men. The majority were delivered in companies to infantry divisions with a few exceptions. Some sources apply the designation Sd.Kfz.163 to the StuG IV.
