Sturmtiger
EASY MODEL 36100
Scale 1:72
Period: WWII, 1943-1944
Country: Germany
The Sturmtiger ( RW61 auf Sturmmörser Tiger), is a German heavy assault gun. It is one of the rarest variants of the Tiger I heavy tank, with a giant 380mm mortar as its weapon. The conversion of Tigers I to Sturmtigers started in August 1944 and lasted until the end of December, during which time 18 were completed and sent into action in the Ardennes.
The huge rocket-propelled projectiles were 149 cm long and weighed 330 kg. To load the ammunition on board, a loading bracket was installed at the right rear of the casemate. Due to the size of the projectiles and the limited space on board, only 14 could be loaded.
